Low plant with succulent stems 10–55 cm long. Leaves are orbicular-reniform in outline, rather broader than long, measuring 0.5–3 cm long and 0.75–6 cm broad. The lamina is palmately lobed with triangular lobes, featuring very coarsely crenate margins and a deeply cordate base. Both surfaces are shiny, especially the upper, and strigose; petioles are up to 20 cm or more in length and can be woolly in populations found at higher elevations. Inflorescences consist of 2–6 peduncles at a node, each bearing an umbel with 10–30 flowers. Flowers are borne on longish pedicels at higher altitudes.
