Mission:To maintain up-to and accurate scientific information base about Sri Lanka’s flora which is freely accessible, user friendly and inclusive with information in all three languages spoken in the country.

P. Mahendra - The Founder and Chief contributing botanist of the Flora of Sri Lanka website, also serves as the Co-Director of ECERO. With expertise as a field botanist, he possesses extensive knowledge of Sri Lanka's flora. Engaged in numerous national-level plant evaluation initiatives, including the National Red List (Flora) 2020, Mahendra holds a BSc in Forestry and Environmental Science, as well as an MSc in Forestry and Environmental Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Sajith Chandana Gajanayake - The Founder and Content Editor of the Flora of Sri Lanka Website, is actively involved in reforestation and plant conservation initiatives. He works as a Senior Executive in telecommunications and holds a Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, and Telecommunication Systems from the Sri Lanka College of Technology, Colombo 10
Bhathiya Gopallawa - Serving as a contributing botanist for the Flora of Sri Lanka Website, brings valuable experience from his tenure at the National Herbarium. His roles included participation in the National Botanical Survey and the Study of Hilltop Flora, along with contributing to the compilation of the National Red List (Flora) 2020. Bhathiya's achievements include the naming of new plant species and the rediscovery of species thought to be extinct. He holds a BSc in Biological Science and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Botany from the University of Peradeniya, currently pursuing his PhD at the Department of Botany, University of Peradeniya.
Ajith Samansiri - Co-Director of ECERO, Ajith is currently working as an Environmental Specialist in an on-going major development project in Sri Lanka. He holds a BSc (Special) in Botany from University of Peradeniya.
Dilini Wickramasinghe - Project Coordinator and contributing botanist of Flora of Sri Lanka Web Site – BSc. Forestry and Environmental Science from University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Indika Tiron - Full-stack Developer of Flora of Sri Lanka Web Site - BSc (Statistic and Computer Science) University of Wayamba
Neela de Zoysa - An Advisor to Flora of Sri Lanka Web Site and a botanist with four decades of experience in Sri Lanka and the US. She did botanical research in Sinharaja through the Department of Botany University of Peradeniya, and on rattan and bamboo at the Forest Department. She authored the taxonomic revision of the palm family for the Revised Handbook to the Flora of Ceylon, is co-author of the Common Trees and Shrubs of Sri Lanka and wrote a field guide to the Rattans of Sri Lanka. She is based in Massachusetts, USA.
Dr. Himesh Dilruwan Jayasinghe - An Advisor to Flora of Sri Lanka Website and a Well experienced field botanist. He was an Irrigation Engineer by profession and graduated from the University of Moratuwa. Later he enters to plant exploration field and completed his PhD from the Field of Plant Taxonomy 2023, University of Colombo.
