Cryptocoryne undulata Wendt

Evergreen herb with a rhizome less than 1 cm thick, which is slenderer in submerged specimens with longer internodes. Runners are long and slender, and submerged specimens often feature short, fragile "bulbil-like runners". Leaves have petioles reaching up to 15 cm; the blade is sub undulate, ovate to narrowly ovate, measuring (0.5) 1–2 (3) x 3–10 cm. The upper leaf surface is green to reddish-brown, while the lower surface is paler and sometimes reddish; the apex is acute to acuminate, the base is obtuse to truncate, and the margin is entire. The spathe is 10–20 cm long and brownish on the outside. The spathe kettle is 1.0–1.5 cm long, featuring a reddish-purple interior in the upper part with alveoli covering the upper 1/3 to 1/2 of the surface. The spathe tube is 5–15 cm long. The spathe limb is 1.5–4 cm long, twisted spirally to subobliquely twisted, and smooth to slightly roughened on the inside. Its color is cream to yellowish to brownish with a collar of the same color and a whitish throat. The spadix is approximately 1 cm long, bearing 4–7 yellowish female flowers and 40–70 male flowers. Olfactory bodies are rounded and yellowish.
